The Odessa Roerich House Museum was established in 2000. The Museum's goal is to make available to the public the creative heritage of the Roerich family and to provide all kinds of cultural activities. The main Museum's objectives are:

- to study and popularize cultural and spiritual heritage of Nicholas Roerich as well as the ideas of the Roerich Pact;

- to maintain a regular schedule of lectures, seminars, conferences, public readings dedicated to the problems of cultural and spiritual evolution of the mankind;

- participation and organization of different exhibitions; publishing and other activities which popularize the achievements of national and world culture.

There are five exhibition halls in the Museum. The Roerich Family hall is dedicated to artistic, literary and epistolary heritage of all members of Roerich's family. The hall of Spiritual Teachers of Mankind illustrates the idea of unity of all religions, the unique source of their origin, as depicted in Nicholas Roerich's paintings and formulated in philosophical heritage of HP. Blavatsky, the founder of the Theosophical Society. The Hall of B.A.Smirnov-Rusetsky is dedicated to artistic heritage of Nicholas Roerich disciple, the Russian artist B.A.Smirnov-Rusetsky. Paintings of local and Ukrainian artists are represented in the Exhibition hall. Besides B.A. Smirnov-Rusetsky's paintings, Museum's collection also consists of the works of the famous Russian artist A.V.Fonvizin and his disciple V.L.Yasmopolskaya (wife of B.A. Smirnov-Rusetsky), which one can find in the Fonvizin hall.
